We can all agree that moving to the U.S is exciting and full of new experiences, but sometimes you can’t help but miss the little things from back home.
For many Brits, that includes our beloved chocolate.
Hershey’s could never!
While American candy can certainly be delicious in its own right, there’s just something special about the taste of British chocolate. For example, it doesn’t taste of vomit. (Looking at you, Hershey’s.)
Luckily, for those living across the pond, there are plenty of places to find British chocolate in America. So if you’re craving a taste of home or simply want to try some iconic British sweets, here’s where to look:
Online retailers: The easiest way to get your hands on British chocolate is by ordering it online. There are loads of websites that specialize in importing British products and will ship them directly to your doorstep. Some popular options include British Corner Shop, The English Tea Store, and of course Amazon.
International food markets: If you prefer to shop in person, look for international food markets in your area. These stores often have a section dedicated to British products, including chocolate. You may even be able to find some lesser-known brands that aren’t available in mainstream American stores.
Specialty candy shops: Many cities have specialty candy shops that carry a wide variety of sweets from around the world. These stores are likely to stock British chocolate as well, along with other traditional British treats like biscuits and tea.

A West Village institution, Tea and Sympathy has come through some hard times in recent years and remains a great place to stock up on all your favourites. (Check out A Salt & Battery (get it?), a fish-and-chip shop owned by the same people, nextdoor.)
69 2nd Avenue, New York, NY 10003
An Irish and British candy store with all your home needs, plus if you have a little Irish in you, then there’ll be Tayto crisps galore.

This one’s a bit further out of town, but it’s a lovely-looking family shop with all your creature comforts.
